The Road to Riverdale: Archie Panel
The CW’s Riverdale has become a hit by adapting one of the most unlikely pieces of source material: the all-American line of Archie Comics. With a darker, more glamorous take, the show has been able to bring an entirely new audience to the traditionally wholesome high school adventures of Archie and his friends Betty, Veronica, and Jughead. In this panel listen to artist Dan Parent cover his experience working at Archie comics and his takes on the new evolution of the characters.

Combining literacy and creative skills, students can bring stories to life with digital tools like video and music. (The focus would be mini-documentaries and adding a music track. This can be done with video or stills.) Apple's workshop will train you on the use of their tools (iMovie, Photos, iTunes) to create wonderful mini-documentaries. Seats 12.

Appel Farm - Envision your Future - Vision Boards
Participants will create a dynamic, visual representation of their own unique dream of their future – a Vision Board! Prompted by the statement, "Today a student, tomorrow a ___________(fill in the blank)", participants will use a collage of materials, including decorative and colored papers, magazines and tissue paper, to design a Vision Board that uses images and words to tell the story of their future selves. Finished Vision Boards will serve as a visual reminder and inspiration to continue to strive to reach their goals.

Video Game Art
The convergence of video games and art is explored here. Watch as Chris Burke, a machinima expert, creates artistic pieces of work that use video games as a component. His current musical work, Songs from the Robot Apocalypse, uses Sony's LittleBigPlanet 3 to create set pieces as a digital stage for his actors to inhabit. Tamara Yadao will join the panel to discuss her work with Chris in foci + loci, a performing duo, also using Little Big Planet 3. They will also discuss the challenges of funding for such unique art explorations.

Crawling through dungeons has been the stuff of fantasy role playing for decades, but of all the participants the most skilled is the Dungeon Master - the voice in the sky that leads you and your companions on wonderful trips through imagination. Come chat with Mark Farley, who’s been DM’ing since the 1970’s! Hear his advice on how you can also lead successful campaigns that will keep you and your friends for a long long time.
